Bae and the Beach: Beach Vacation Beauty Essentials

Listen up ladies (and gents), we all know why we love heading to the beach with your significant other, the sun, the sand, the surf, a perfect opportunity to get closer to the one you’re feelin’. But we alllll also know, it’s the perfect opportunity to flex the results of that diet you’ve been dying on, get a golden glow, and remind bae why he/she what a stunner they have by their side! And while that beach beauty is the best filter, allow me to share with you some of my old, and new beauty product go-to’s that I pack when I’m heading to a warm destination.

First, getting toasty in the Caribbean sun is great, but every beauty diva (or divo) knows it’s essential to wear sunscreen. Sun damage and over exposure eventually creates wrinkles, and we want our skin to look youthful forever right? Anyhow, along with packing an SPF 30+ body lotion and moisturizer (I use Josie Maran Argan Daily Moisturizer SPF 47), I always bring a golden bronzer. Just in case my moisturizer worked TOO well.

I Use: TARTE Maracuja Rainforest Glow Instant Matte Waterproof Body Perfecter & Mitt

It gives your skin a golden bronze glow without the sickly sweet smell and obvious shiny finish. For my face, I love to continue the golden trend. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not out here looking like an Oscar award, it’s just a subtle sexy glow. Religiously,

I Use: NARS Illuminator in Laguna

Not only does this face cream add an extra punch of moister, but it imparts a subtle incandescent glow under your foundation, or alone! I love it because I can throw it on, add some concealer, brows and mascara and keep going to the beach! I love a good (makeup) beat, but it’s not cute for your face to melt while you’re chillin’ in the sun with bae. Speaking of moisture, honestly for the beach, for post-gym, in the morning, late night, there’s nothing better for a moist (ew) shot in the arm like what…

I Use: Mario Badescu Facial Spray with Aloe, Herbs & Rosewater

My girlfriend actually put me on to it years ago, and I never looked back. It makes your face smell sweet, feel good and refreshed, and the aloe in it is great for post-sun exposure. If I want to throw a little makeup on, I never forget a primer. My recently favorite go-to for the beach is,

I Use: Urban Decay Quick Fix Hydracharged Complexion Prep Priming Spray

Some people don’t like this because of the coconut smell, but I think that’s why I love it for the beach. Using actual coconut water (which we know is hydrating) in their formula, it’s light, feels refreshing, and makes my makeup stay on longer throughout those hot Caribbean (or wherever you are) days. The last thing I’ll tell you about is probably the most important; skin care while traveling. It’s so important while you travel to not let up on your beauty routine. Because while the sun will temporarily keeps those pimples and bumps away, they’ll come back like a vengance if you neglected to wash and protect your skin while on vacay. For my skin while traveling,

I Use: DERMALOGICA UltraCalming Kit

My skin is already sensitive, so this kit calms it after sun exposure, keeps it dewey soft, and has all the essentials needed for at LEAST two weeks of travel, depending on how big your face may be, and I’ll tell you, I’ve got a big one. That’s all for now folks! And hey, as a bonus, always wonder what fragrance you should take to the beach, or say, a sexy Moroccan safari? I LOVE Jo Malone’s Wood Sage & Sea Salt. It has this earth, woodsy note with strong sage, and hints of sandalwood, finished off with that peculiar sea salt smell.

Try it, and snuggle up. You’ll thank me later.

Xx,

Angel
