Wellness Friendly Strains for 420

Welcome to 420 folks! I’m sure y’all didn’t anticipate celebrating this “holiday” inside, but is there a more safe place to consume than home? While cannabis has long been stigmatized as a drug that creates unnecessary laziness, slothfulness, and gateway to depravity (lol), that characterization is dropping about as fast as states can legalize the flower. To me? It’s from the earth, and as long as it’s responsibly, and legally consumed, I see no reason to denigrate people who enjoy it’s wellness properties.

Imagine, such a beautifully grown (yet unfortunately and lately oft commodified) plant that when consumed, can offer medicinal properties including quelling pain, helping those insomnia suffers sleep, calming anxiety, and making you laugh — just to name a few — yet it’s constantly getting a bad rap, a rap that humanity’s irresponsibility, and the war on drugs created. It’s long been used medicinally in ancient cultures, long before it’s Reagan era stigmatization. I’ll leave it up to you to decide if it’s good or bad. I know what y’all are thinking, how can a Christian champion consuming weeeeed? Well, like I said, it’s from the earth. God made it, we’re the ones who created a negative stigma behind it.

Anyway, let me get to the reason for this post. There are some strains who’s THC content is SO high that they immediately induce a head high that isn’t the most relaxing to most. Because cannabis has become big business, growers have systematically crossed CBD out of the equation for most popular strains. CBD is the seatbelt of cannabis so to speak. The property that keeps you sane while smoking. I want y’all to be relaxed! Because of this, allow me to introduce these “wellness” cannabis strains below. They all offer grounding medicinal effects,  and some, don’t induce psycho-activity at all. Personally, I enjoy CBD. While strains with THC are fun, as the years go on and my anxiety peaks and wains, I rather be clear-headed and calm. CBD dominate strains give me that extra boost of wellness inducing cannabinoids on my most sluggish days.

Night Nurse StrainWellness OG – An award winning sativa dominate phenotype of OG Kush. An eye-opening cerebral high kicks off Wellness OG, which eventually turns into focus as the effects settle in. The result is a calming, relaxed body buzz that helps stress and pain drift away while stimulating the appetite

Night Nurse — is an 80/20 indica dominate strain that birthed from Hash Plant, Harmony, and Fire OG. It’s used to fight anxiety, stress, and chronic pain. Another plus to Night Nurse? Because it offers a pretty equally balance cerebral and body high, it’s often used to fight insomnia.

Nina’s Web CBD — You can find this sativa dominant strain in either a 1:1, or 1:2 THC to CBD ratio. Because of it’s high CBD content, it has a wealth of medicinal properties including help managing anxiety, inflammation and chronic pain. This strain is a cross between Nina Limone and the legendary Charlottes Web CBD strain.

Remedy Remedy —A cross between Cannatonic and Afghan Skunk, is a high-CBD offers mellow relaxation with the crazy head high offered by high THC strains. Remedy is with psychoactive effects, and features a delicious piney-lemony flavor and scent.

Blue Dream — Blue Dream is easily one of the most popular cannabis strains ever, like, if there was a cannabis Mt. Rushmore, it would be on it. A cross of Blueberry OG and Super Silver Haze, this sativa dominant, high-THC hybrid is super popular among anxiety sufferers. While it’s high is initially a head high, it quickly fades into a relaxing body high. This popular strain offers energy, happiness, and liveliness, it clears the oft crippling brain fog that anxiety brings — and creates a calming effect, perfect for those mindful activities that don’t require complete presentness.

Oh. And P.S., for wellness sake, I believe consuming in either tincture form, edible form, or via a vaporizer is the safest way to go, we need our lungs healthy and clear as possible. A vaporizer heats the flower to extract THC, CBD, cannabinoids, and terpenes present in the plant — without the harmful effects of combustion.

Let me know what you think. What wellness friendly strains do you enjoy?

Xx,

Angel
